"Now keep in mind that I'm an artist, and I'm sensitive about my s**t." - Erkyah Badu

Seven months...okay, really, almost eight months later, I am actually writing and posting a blog post on SheReignsKali.com. I know, I know, but please do not judge. 2017 has moved by quickly. One minute it is March and the next minute we are tootsie rolling into 2018. Like seriously, where is time going?

Many changes and events have happened since we’ve in each other’s presence. In March, I was in the process of Lent. Let us just say, in those last few days, I was struggling to get across the finish line. Good Friday seemed like it took forever to arrive. The fear of missing out had me anxious and impatient. This past Lent I did not really learn anything new nor develop more patient.

The Golden Gyals Podcast went on hiatus. Blame Miley Cyrus. Makalynn and I decided to come back with a Season 2 of #demgoldengyals. New episodes starting December 1st. I really do not remember this summer except it went by quickly. *cue EW&F's September* September was a little more eventful. I made the critical decision to switch to the Creative Writing MFA program at Full Sail University. Journalism is not my cup of tea (with whiskey in it). One Music Fest 2017 was AMAZING. Awesome performances from Tank and the Bangas, Ro James, and JidennaMiss Jill Scott gave a phenomenal performance to close out the fest. Unfortunately, Yasiin Bey's, better known as Mos Def, performance was lackluster. There was a tie between technical difficulties and him performing deep album cuts only his die-hard fans would know. I should have remained in my seat and watch the Migos perform instead of going to the festival stage to see Mos Def.

Fast forward to now. I have been trying to write this blog post for about two weeks. Okay now, you can judge. Two weeks, Kali? Yes, two weeks. The procrastination spirit has been on me heavy. I have started, restarted, postponed, and rescheduled a 30-day writing challenge I decided to begin on October 1st. Technically, this blog post could be considered the first post of the writing challenge. Technically. I promise that I am going to do better, post more content and be consistent. Girl Scout Honor.

Until next time…*besos* L.A.
