Laughter Is The Best Medicine

The first thirty-one days of the year 2018 have passed, I am still in a place of “What are my goals for this year?” Oh, I am finally posting a blog on SheReignsKali.com after 3-7 layout redesigns since the last post.

The past few months, I have been living life and not spending too much energy on negative, lower vibrational people or things. I ditched the New Media Journalism program at Full Sail for the Creative Writing program. Always changing my mind. During the second month (January) into the program, I thought of every reason to withdraw from the program and school. The Give Up spirit took over because of the passive aggressive, condescending attitude of the course instructor which rubbed me the wrong way. This spirit tootsie rolled with the next level of adversity I dealt with in the first 31 days of 2018. I experienced a financial setback that led to me never quite catching up, robbing Peter & Paul to pay John, and resulting in my transportation being unavailable for two weeks.

When the mishap first occurred, I went from “okay okay” to full blown “woe is me” with Viola Davis’ snot bubble and tears. I felt all the feels from Inside Out, mainly Anger, but eventually, I gathered myself (MyBuddha gathered me too) together, went back into my “Figure It Out” mode and focused on one issue at a time. I received a Good Luck candle from the Haus of Hoodoo around this time. I prayed, meditated, and burned palo santo before I lit the candle. Little things started to make me laugh like Teen Titans Go’s Beast Boy singing Catchin’ Villains , or the look on my best friend’s face when he realized I was beating him in Phase 10, or his smug look when he won Monopoly, which I want a rematch. The small good luck victories, not thinking about my yearly goals, and simply laughing made the first 31 days Pass Me By like The Pharcyde.

Until next time… *besos* L.A.
